Looks like the past season is pretty much done for everyone... at least for those without indoor or for those heading south.
Now is a good time to think about how you are going to get in shape for next year. A great way to start is by making a list of your strengths and weaknesses (as you see them, unless you have a coach... hint). The problem with game analysis is that very seldom do athletes break their game down into categories. Instead they think only of their overall game. I encourage athletes to identify their S/W's in all categories of their game and then pick out one small weakness and one big weakness and more importantly are they skills or strategy or fitness? Without identifying specific weaknesses the athlete cannot possibly set up a program to turn that weakness into a strength.
As we all know we should only try and fix one thing at a time... this applies in bowls, golf and curling. If you make two different adjustments how will you know which one was the correct adjustment? You won't! And... more importantly, if the adjustment your weakness remains a weakness then you will know that your "fix" is not the correct one.
There are chapters written on this type of analysis, but it always comes down to whether the athlete themselves is dedicated enough to take the steps and stick with their plan.
Let's get some discussion going here with what you have identified for you own game, for one of your athletes and what you have done to fix your weaknesses.
